Planning Ahead

Recently I have been researching how to prepare for a carer in dentistry in high school. I have been reading article upon article about how to prepare for it. Every single one said the same things, shadow a dentist, do AP science and math classes, and go to a health high school. However, this particular one, https://becomeadentist.org/how-much-does-a-dentist-earn/, told specifics about why and how. When I look for a good article to reference, I need the whys and hows. If there are no whys and hows, how would I know if I want to be a dentist or not? Since it does include them, I read everything and I know I will love it. This article even includes a section titled "Should I Become A Dentist". I looked at all of the tabs underneath it and they all intrigue me. I am looking forward to reading more dentistry articles and I am so excited for my future carer.

  1. That's so awesome that you are so intrigued by dentistry! It really came across in your post. I especially liked how you wanted to see the whys and the hows. That showed that you really wanted to learn more about your topic. Keep up the great work!

How to be a Successful High School Student

Below is a presentation I made about how to succeed as a high school student. I hope you find the video helpful as it is very informative about good habits for high school success.

Introduction

Over the next four years of high school, I hope to be driven and accomplished. My goal is to get into the college of my dreams and become familiar with dentistry. Ever since my brother got Invisalign, I have been very interested in dentistry. Also, my cousin's girlfriend is going to be a dentist and she told me how much she loves it. She told me all of the classes she had to take and they sounded so fun.  I will also volunteer more at the veterinary clinic where I have been volunteering for the past year to ensure that I am well rounded. About a year and a half ago, my dog had to get a cyst removed from his arm. I went to every single check-up appointment after the surgery to see his progress and I realized how interesting it was to help and heal animals. If I lose my interest in dentistry, perhaps I will do veterinary science instead. I will be accomplished and driven these next four years.
